Hi Jim,
I have trained people in the gym,but now I am training people outside at a local park.
The worst thing about being on my own is that I have to do all of my own sales and marketing.
The best thing is that I can charge what I want to,I can let people make payments if they want to,I am my own boss.
I have my own equipment:stability ball,resistance bands,adjustable dumbbells,mat,plus I use the parks equipment:benches,steps,hills,swings,etc.
I like the fact that I am my own boss:I can decide what time I want to run my bootcamp and whether I want it to be 4 or 6 weeks long.
There are good and bad points to training at a gym and training on your own-I prefer to train on my own-I like the fact that my “Work Office” is the great outdoors and I can get some sun while I am working.
Thanks,Jim,
I love your newsletter-very informative.

Bonnie,

I totally agree regarding running your own business. I have had my own training business for over 17 years, and have never turned back. It is interesting to note that my last “JOB” was at Sports Club - Los Angeles, one of the top executive health clubs in the country.

As far as training outside, I know where you are coming from. I have trained people overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica. Being locked up in a gym for 12+ hours a day can wear on you.

One of the advantages of in home personal training is the ability to change locations. You also have the option to take clients outside for a change of pace.

Make sure you set aside valuable marketing time for continuous business growth.

Thanks for the kind words regarding Personal Training Insider. This is just the beginning. Just wait!
