Personal Fitness Trainer Rules

Years ago when I created a professional brochure for my personal training business I included “expectations”  of me, as well as my soon to be clients. I set the record straight right from the start of our fitness business relationship. There are certain things clients should expect from me; and there are things I expect from them.

Recently 1000 members of a health club - Get In Shape For Women, and 100 personal fitness trainers were surveyed asking the most effective qualities of a client - trainer relationship.  Below I have listed the results of the survey.

If you want to be a successful, top-of-the-line fitness professional, then follow these 10 qualities. Also, make sure your clients also agree to their half of the bargain - 5 qualities.

I can truly relate to most of these because 15 years ago this is exactly what I demanded of myself, and requested of my clients.

Put these into action in your fitness business today, and thrive.

Personal Fitness Trainer Rep Counter

Are you a personal fitness trainer rep counter, or a professional consultant? It is sad to say that many personal trainers become glorified rep counters? In the first month of meeting a new fitness business client trainers design a program, teach clients how to execute the program, and then count reps, and count reps, and count more reps. How long can this go on? Years!

Yes, a good personal fitness trainer will motivate clients into doing the exercises by providing encouragement. Yes, good personal trainers will modify a workout from time to time; but after that they mainly become rep counters again.

Do you know what counting reps for 8 hours a day will do for you besides make money? Well, cause extreme boredom. In order to prevent yourself from burning out with boredom watch the short video I have prepared for you. Do what I recommend; and you will not only prevent your clients from getting bored, but yourself. Most personal fitness trainers miss these two simple tips. Watch below, and apply the tips to your personal trainer business.
